CzechInvest, the Czech business and investment development agency, will open 13 new support centers for SMEs in the first four months of next year.
The project falls within the framework of the new support policy chosen by the state agency, an organ of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which plans to support foreign investment and Czech SMEs in the manufacturing sector.
The new offices will be responsible for providing information on support programs and handling activities related to the implementation and administration of European funds, actively collaborating with the development of the local business environment.
Zdenek Jana, director of the regional division of CzechInvest, emphasized that "the fundamental principle of the new regional representation system is its proximity to the end users, i.e., the entrepreneurs. For this reason, we decided to locate the offices in the direct centers of regional activity, in order to cooperate closely with the regional Chambers of Commerce, the Advisory and Information Centers, and the Regional Development Agencies."
The expansion of the Agency and the modifications to its support policy stem from its merger with the other two agencies of the Czech Ministry of Economy: ARP (Agency for Enterprise Development) and CzechIndustry (Agency for Industry Development). "SMEs play an important role in economic development and are a driving force in technological innovation; therefore, CzechInvest, in line with the country's policy, has decided to focus its efforts on fostering the competitiveness of Czech SMEs," according to statements by its Director General, Martin Jahn.
