Rhenus, official logistics partner of COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan

 

El Rhenus Group, a global provider of logistics solutions, has been appointed as Official Logistics Partner of the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29)To be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 2024. The company will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of the event, which will bring together heads of state, negotiators and industry leaders to address the most pressing challenges of climate change.

 

Rhenus will bring its experience in managing major international events, collaborating with local partners and leveraging its global network present in more than 70 countries. From intercontinental transport to internal event logistics, the company will ensure an efficient and sustainable operation.

 

Rhenus has already demonstrated its logistics capabilities at high-profile events such as the Olympic Games in Paris and Rio de Janeiro, and has collaborated with the UN World Food Programme.

In line with its environmental commitment, Rhenus will implement specific measures to minimise the impact of COP29, including the use of electric vehicles and the service RHEGREEN, which allows for a reduction of up to 40% in CO2 emissions from air shipments.
