Sixth edition of the Riu Awards

RIU Hotels & Resorts has held its sixth edition of the Riu Awards, awards that recognize the work of the most important travel agents for the hotel chain in the USA and Canada. The event took place at the Riu Palace Baja California hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico, and was attended by 80 people, 37 of whom were awarded, coming from the main cities of the two countries that constitute the largest emitter and business volume for RIU in America. The gala has the objective of rewarding the trust and prescription of all these tourism professionals who support RIU every day, helping to consolidate the brand in the US and Canadian markets. In addition, the Marketing and Sales team informed attendees about the latest RIU news, such as the Elite Club concept, upcoming hotel renovations and openings.
The agencies participating in the event received a craft award and were also able to enjoy a VIP weekend at Cabo San Lucas by the hotel company, which included a special tour of the destination, as well as recreational activities and events full of surprises, as well as details in recognition of their dedication.
The destination's RIU team designed a very special event and menu for the guests, who were accompanied by the top representatives of the RIU Business Development team: Armin Kaestner, VP of Sales, Contracting and Business Development of the USA and Canada; Hugo Aguilera, Director of Marketing and Business Development of the USA and Canada; Laura Castellanos, Sales Director in the Dominican Republic; Yvonne Bauer, Sales Manager for Cabo San Lucas; Oswald Ponette, Delegate of Los Cabos; Karina Olivera, Areli Alcivar, Karina Fuentes, Luis Dragonne and Lucero Morales Business Development Manager of the USA; Sandra Mallete and Valerie Ward, Business Development Manager of Canada; Adrián Sonneveld, Groups Sales Manager and Gabriela Mata, Partner Marketing Manager.
The winners of the Riu Award are chosen from among those agents who have the highest production throughout the previous year. So all members interested in participating in the 7th Annual RIU Awards Ceremony in 2024 just have to continue working with RIU and their mutual clients in planning their vacations.
