RUSSIA Russia demonstrated its military power at the 6th edition of MAKC-2003

The MAKC-2003 International Aerospace and Aircraft Technology Exhibition opened in late August in Zhukovsky, Moscow, the largest ever held at the event. One hundred and fourteen foreign companies from 31 countries were present, sixty of which were exhibiting their technology in Russia for the first time. For example, the European Space Agency made its debut at the exhibition. The United States also showcased its F-15, F-16, and F-18 multirole fighter jets and Apache helicopters for the first time. Russia, the Baltic states, and the Commonwealth of Independent States were represented by 300 companies. Specifically, Russia exhibited fifteen aircraft: Su-27 and Su-35 multirole fighters; modernized Su-24, Su-25, and Su-39 fighters; and MiG-29 two-seaters. The experimental Su-47 "Bercut," a prototype of a fifth-generation fighter jet, was also on display. The Ka-60 and Mi-38 helicopters demonstrated their aerial prowess. New elements of the Russian air defense system were showcased for the first time.
