Seminar

Different topics were discussed such as emerging countries, Brexit, country debt, risk factors, etc.

Banco Sabadell has celebrated in Valencia Company Hub a hybrid seminar under the title “International geopolitical environment. “The 10 aspects to be taken into account by companies when internationalizing” in charge of carlos dalmau, Director of International at Banco Sabadell and Ricardo Santamaria, Country Risk Director of Cesce.

Companies see the world with a certain uncertainty, as Dalmau said, “we all thought that after the Covid We had already seen it all, but unforeseen events happen every time, the world moves very fast and ultimately, before, we looked at the cost and employment. Today, we have to look at geopolitical aspects, how different markets look, inflation, interest rates, etc.”

Ricardo Santamaría, Country Risk Director of Cesce, stressed that “we are in a very special moment. In a very short time we have had a health crisis as a result of Covid, a food security crisis and a climate crisis. Terms such as permacrisis are coined to refer to this prolonged period of instability. They are multiple risks that occur simultaneously. That is what is happening and what is changing.”

He also highlighted that we are living a geopolitical disruption that transcendently changes the strategy of the international trade and it will change even more in the long term. Santamaría emphasized the war in Ukraine, since he thinks that although for many it is a before and after for the purposes of deglobalization, it is the moment in which a set of inertias that have been seen coming since the financial crisis of 2008 come to light. .

Different topics were discussed such as which are the emerging countries, the Brexit, countries' indebtedness, risk factors, etc.
