The CEO of the Global Manufacturing Organization (GMO) and Executive Director of Mubadala and CEO of Strata Manufacturing, Badr Al-Olama, presented at the headquarters of the Business Confederation the Global Manufacturing & Industrialisation Summit (GMIS), which will be held at the end of March in Abu Dhabi. President of CEOE, Juan Rosell, stressed that the GMIS It represents a great opportunity to discuss the challenges facing the sector and to design the future of industrial development in the world in a sustainable manner between governments, businessmen and civil society. He pointed out that in a globalised world, competition is increasing and new challenges must be faced (excessive regulation, energy prices, etc.).

 

Concrete measures

 

In this context, Rosell He explained that "concrete measures must be adopted to boost the industry and reorient the activity towards investors who allow us to position ourselves at the same level as our competitors, or in other words, level playing field." Global platform

 

Badr Al-Obama, in turn, stressed the importance of optimizing value chains, contributing to exports and global GDP, and to do so it is necessary to invest in production capacity. He reported that within the framework of the next Summit GMIS, a conference on technology and innovation will be held and issues related to sustainability and the environment will be addressed. In addition, an exhibition of manufacturers from the various emirates will be presented and a platform for global value chains will be created thanks to the participation of the CEOs from numerous organizations from various countries.

 

GMO CEO stressed that the GMIS will be held at the end of March at a university in Abu Dhabi, in order to emphasize the importance of education and training, since the future of the industry lies in the new generations. The Summit will be held every two years and will consist of creating a global platform, like a “club of industrial manufacturers from all parts of the world,” he said.

 

Future of the industrial sector

 

The president of the CEOE Industry and Energy Commission, Guillermo Ulacia; the Deputy Director General of Industrial Sector Policies of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Alejandro Cros; and the Director of Institutional Relations of Repsol, Luis Bautista; they analysed the prospects and future of the industrial sector in Spain and around the world.
