All the speakers have agreed when highlighting that we are facing a fourth industrial Revolution that affects all sectors of the economy.
The General Secretary of Industry and SMEs, Begoña Cristeto, inaugurated the event by revealing that “87% of the products it exports Spain They are industrial”, which places us as the fifth most industrialized country in the world. In this sense, he has highlighted that we are living in a key moment, since we are in what would be considered the fourth Industrial Revolution, while recognizing that, for the first time, “Spain is catching the industrialization train at the station.”
In relation to this new stage, Cristeto has pointed out that this new industrialization is characterized by “hybridizing the physical and digital world”, as well as entailing profound changes that affect the process, the product and the economic model of companies. To "turn this great challenge into an opportunity" and achieve the goal of 20% of GDP being represented by the industrial sector, the general secretary has emphasized the need to commit to "an intelligent, connected and collaborative industry."

Then Mario Velando, Industry 4.0 consultant, and Roberto Paredes, CTO Machine Learning at Zemsania, have referred to a success story that consisted of the application of Analitycs and the Machine Learning at Ford. Velando, he has pointed out that, above all, Industry 4.0 entails a necessary “cultural change” associated with a change in roles and values in companies.
Along these lines, he highlighted that this change affects productivity, professional roles and specialties, investments and income generation. For his part, Paredes has spoken of Machine Learning such as “machine learning” that “uses historical data to build predictive models”, all with the aim of automating decision-making processes in companies. Thus, his company explained, it managed to predict failures in the machinery of an automobile company thanks to sensorization, data capture and its subsequent categorization.
Finally, the director of Institutional Relations of ITP, Plácido Márquez, has presented his company's successful experience as an example of "aeronautics' response to the deployment of Industry 4.0 resources." In short, the application of this industry's own resources in the advanced manufacturing phase would have provided them with a set of tools aimed at the search for industrial efficiency, innovation in products and services, and management efficiency. In this way, ITP would have invested a budget of 7 million euros in five years with a view to establishing its leadership in the sector with the creation of a Aeronautical Advanced Manufacturing Center.
