Six Asturian companies explore the metal and energy market in Scotland and Norway

Within the international promotion plan of the sector

ASTUREX has organized this direct commercial mission to the North Sea due to the business opportunities it presents.

a Principality of Asturias Foreign Promotion Society, SA (ASTUREX) organize a direct trade mission al North Sea (Scotland and Norway) in which six participate Asturian companies of the metal sector. From May 6 to 12, they will hold meetings with potential clients from the markets of the metal, oil&gas and energy for the promotion and marketing of their products and services.

 

The companies and entities that participate in the mission are Containers and Normalized Packaging, SA, Grupo Navec Servicios Industriales, SL, Ingeniería Montajes Norte, SA, Mecanizaciones y Fabricaciones, SA, PHB Weserhutte, SA and S-Global Industry, SL

 

The largest hydrocarbons in the North Sea  belong to United Kingdom y NorwayBeing Scotland and Norway the main suppliers of oil and natural gas Europe with an annual extraction of 100 million tons of oil per year. On the high seas you can find both maritime pipelines, sometimes hundreds of kilometers long, and oil and gas extraction platforms. One of the largest oil platforms is Gullfaks, from 350 kilometers to 175 kilometers from the Norwegian coast.

 

Regarding renewable energies, offshore wind is presented as an industry of the future in the region of the North Sea since it has the advantage of taking advantage of more constant and stronger winds than on land. For this reason, the area has become the great testing ground for the industry. For years now, Aberdeeen (Scotland), capital of the industry maritime oil and gas exploitation, is looking for a way to carry out the energy transition in the North Sea so that it becomes the world center for offshore wind energy.

 

 

From May 6 to 12, meetings will be held with potential clients from the metal, oil&gas and energy markets for the promotion and marketing of their products and services.

 

 

 

El UK Government has set an ambitious plan to achieve 100% renewable energy for the electricity consumed in 2020. Wind energy is the technology with the fastest growth within renewables, nothing strange considering that the country owns 25% of the estimated wind resources in Europe.

 

For its part, Norway, is the largest oil producer in Europe (and twelfth in the world), the third largest gas exporter in the world and world leader in renewable energy. In 2016 the country signed an agreement with United Kingdom to build the largest underwater electrical connection in the world, the North Sea Network (NSN), improving the security of the electricity supply of both countries and favoring the integration of more renewable energies into their electrical networks.

 

This direct commercial mission is part of the international promotion plan for the metal sector designed by ASTUREX to support and promote the internationalization of their companies and which includes more than twenty activities for 2017.
