Sergio Isabel assumes the presidency of AFEHC with a clear focus on the global expansion of companies

At a meeting of the General Assembly of AFEHC held on June 5 in Barcelona, Sergio Isabel was appointed new president of the entity, receiving almost unanimous support from the members. Isabel succeeds in the position Daniel Domènech, who has completed his two statutory terms as head of the association.

The new Board of Directors, which will accompany Sergio Isabel (Repagas) in his management, will be made up of Daniel Domènech (Vollrath Pujadas) and Rafael Olmos (Zummo) as vice presidents; José Ruiz (Iberital) as secretary; Julio Luis García (Caff) as treasurer; and Alfonso Acha (Sammic), Francisco J. Ramón (Infrico) and Aitor Zaloña (Salva Industrial) as members.

Sergio Isabel, 48, is the commercial director and a member of one of the founding families of Repagas, a leading company in cooking equipment for the hospitality sector. His association with AFEHC dates back to 2013, where he held the positions of board member and treasurer. A graduate in Business Administration and Management, he has dedicated his entire professional career to hospitality equipment, combining his role at Repagas with the presidency of the association. National Association of Large Kitchen Manufacturers (AFACO).

For this new phase, Isabel has expressed her firm commitment to continue promoting the Spanish export industry of equipment for the hospitality and catering sectors. "I will continue a line of work focused on expanding the portfolio of services and support for member companies in the complex task of selling abroad, especially in the current context of disruption to international trade flows," stated the newly elected president. She also highlighted the strategic value of belonging to AFEHC, as it fosters "the transformation of individual experiences and knowledge into collective synergies, benefiting the competitiveness and strengthening of member companies."

For his part, Daniel Domènech, outgoing president, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him during his eight years in office and recognized the work of the Board of Directors. Domènech highlighted the marked export character of the sector, whose foreign sales currently exceed 50% of its total turnover. In his analysis of the industry's evolution between 2017 and 2024, he highlighted the sector's remarkable resilience and adaptation following the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as its dynamism, evidenced by the record turnover and export figures achieved last year.
