El Seville Congress Palace (FIBES) welcomes from this Wednesday the IV edition of the Space & Defense Industry Sevilla Summit 2023, an event with the best experts and professionals in the Spanish aerospace security and defense industry.
The event, which lasted two days, included the participation of prominent European and Spanish personalities, such as the Secretary of State for Defense, Maria Amparo Valcarce; the commissioner of Spain, Defense Industries & Summit, Joanclos; the third deputy mayor of the Seville City Council, Alvaro Pimentel; and the Minister of University, Research and Innovation of the Government of Andalusia, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos.
During the event, experts addressed current topics such as the need to create a new European defense financing system to reach at least 2% of continental GDP; the consolidation of new generations in the sector; and the social responsibility of the industry.
The Spanish Defense industry currently generates more than 36.000 direct jobs and 81.000 indirect jobs, which makes it a important economic engine for the country.
The Space & Defense Industry Sevilla Summit consolidates Seville as a reference in the aerospace, security and defense industry. The meeting, which brought together the best experts and professionals in the sector, addressed current issues such as European financing, the consolidation of new generations and the social responsibility of the industry.
