SIS is awarded the mega-construction and concession contract for the Novara Hospital in Italy.

 

SIS, the consortium formed by Sacyr and Fininc, has been awarded the concession project of the City of Health and Science of Novara in Italy. This multifunctional complex will integrate a modern hospital and a university campus, consolidating itself as a landmark in the north of the country. Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Maggiore della Carita di Novara, a public agency of the Piedmont Region, has entrusted SIS with the design, financing, construction over five years, and maintenance of the hospital for a quarter of a century. The contract is expected to be formalized in the coming months, marking the start of an investment exceeding €525 million.

 

The new hospital center, which will replace the current one, will be built on a vast plot of 325.000 m², which will include large green areasThe complex will include a hospital, a university, a laboratory, a maternal and child care area, a technology and energy plant, a parking lot, and a nursery. The hospital will also have 711 beds, of which 70 will be for intensive care and 90 for day hospital. In addition, 34 operating rooms and a hundred outpatient consultation rooms.

 

 

This award represents Sacyr's third concession contract in 2025, adding to the expansion of Rutas del Este in Paraguay and the Antofagasta water reuse plant in Chile.

 

 

The concession granted to SIS is comprehensive, encompassing not only the construction but also the comprehensive maintenance of the buildings and facilities. This includes the operation and management of the water, sanitation, stormwater, and wastewater disposal systems, as well as the maintenance of the electrical installations and green areas. This project is expected to become a medical and scientific reference center in Northern Italy, providing direct service to approximately 170.000 people and indirect service to more than 500.000.

This award represents the Third concession contract for Sacyr in 2025, joining the expansion of Rutas del Este in Paraguay and the Antofagasta water reuse plant in Chile. These projects reinforce the company's growth strategy in the concessions sector. Italy is a crucial market for Sacyr, where, through the SIS consortium, it already manages important concessions such as the Turin Health City, the Pedemontana-Veneta motorway, and several key motorways such as the A-3 Naples-Pompeii-Salerno and the A-21 Turin-Piacenza, among others. The current value of Sacyr's concessions assets is close to 4.000 millones de euros, which underlines its ambition to be a global leader in the development of transport, social and water infrastructure by 2033.
