SODERCAN opens a call to grant internationalization training scholarships in Chicago and Dubai

This call is one more of the actions promoted by the public company with the aim of contributing to the internationalization of the business fabric of Cantabria and the foreign promotion of the region's products and companies.

The Society for the Regional Development of Cantabria, SODERCAN, belonging to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Innovation, Transport and Commerce, has launched a call for the granting of up to 15 scholarships for theoretical training and two scholarships for training practices on internationalization under competitive competition, for the training of young people in the field of international promotion and foreign trade. The practical training destinations will be Chicago and Dubai.

 

As explained by the Minister of Industry and president of SODERCAN, Javier Lopez Marcano, this call is one more of the actions promoted by the public company with the aim of contributing to the internationalization of the business fabric of Cantabria and the external promotion of the region's products and companies, promoting the training of young people from the region. This training scholarship program is part of the collaboration agreement signed between SODERCAN and Secretary of State for Commerce and consists of two phases: a first of theoretical training and a second phase of practical training.

 

The call has been published today in the Official Gazette of Cantabria and the submission of applications can be made from tomorrow, Thursday, September 29, until October 13, electronically through the SODERCAN Aid Manager.

 

The theoretical training, from which up to a maximum of 15 candidates can benefit, will include information search techniques on international markets and thematic guides in international trade, international business strategy, international legal environment, marketing and programs to support internationalization, among other concepts.

 

The program will be supervised by a technician from the Directorate of Prospecting for New Markets and Internationalization of SODERCAN and will be developed in collaboration with the Territorial Directorate of the ICEX - Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (Institute of Foreign Trade) in Cantabria.

 

The two practical training scholarships will have a maximum duration of one year and will be carried out in the Economic and Commercial Offices of Spain in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Chicago (United States)

 

The training will deal with those aspects that affect the internationalization process of companies and will begin whenever the selected person has the visa and has completed all the necessary procedures for their travel to the destination country, having completed the theoretical training.

 

Requirements

 

During the practical training period, the scholarship holders will receive an annual stipend of between 20.000 and 50.000 euros depending on the country and city of destination. Candidates must have been born on or after January 1, 1993, have an official university degree or degree at the time of application, and have a minimum accredited level of B2 in English.  

 

SODERCAN has collaborated since 2005 with the Secretary of State for Commerce in the development of this program. Since then, the public society has regularly sent regional scholarship holders to different destinations in the Spanish Foreign Network, all of them considered of strategic interest for the foreign promotion of Cantabria products and companies.
