The day began with the intervention of Jose Ramon AlegreAlegre, CEO of Solunion, emphasized the importance of creating spaces for dialogue and analysis in a constantly changing economic environment. "The Solunion Economic Forum stems from our commitment to businesses, which is none other than to support their profitable growth and protect them from default and insolvency," Alegre stated.
Ludovic Subran, Chief Economist at Allianz, and Gonzalo de Cadenas-Santiago, Deputy General Director of MAPFRE Economics, addressed the current geopolitical and economic trends that impact companies. The experts agreed on the emerging market resilience and highlighted the good performance of the Spanish economy. Likewise, they commented on the opportunities for the Spanish business fabric and the importance of an appropriate industrial policy for value-added sectors such as renewable energies, machinery or the automobile industry.

In the subsequent round table, the trends and strategies that can help companies grow in a competitive environment. The participants, managers of energy, tourism and food companies, discussed the main obstacles they have had to overcome in recent years and the importance of having commercial risk mitigation tools, such as Credit or Surety insurance.
Jochen Wilmes, Risk Director of Solunion Spain, presented the results of the Allianz Trade Global Survey, which highlights that Spanish exporters are the most optimistic about the growth of their business in 2024. However, risks such as geopolitics, protectionism, threats to supply chains and legal and regulatory risks.
The second round table focused on the export challenges and opportunities for next year.
