Before 800 attendees, His Majesty King Felipe VI presided over 'La Nit de la Logística' for the 25th anniversary of SIL

Event that recognizes the dedication of professionals in the sector

This gala has been the prelude to the fair that plans to bring together more than 12.000 professionals and more than 650 participating companies from 40 countries.

His Majesty the King Philip VI presided over the gala last night The Night of LogisticsHeld in the National Theater of Catalonia (TNC), and presented a recognition to those professionals in the sector who have contributed decisively during these 25 years to turning the SIL into one of the most important logistics fairs in the world, as well as the great reference for the sector in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. A total of 49 people received recognition for their career, work, dedication and connection to the sector and the event, year after year.

 

Felipe VI was accompanied by the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Rachel Sanchez, the Government delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, the president of SIL, Pere Navarro, and the general director of SIL, Blanca Sorigué, among other personalities.

 

During his speech at La Nit de la Logística, the president of SIL, Pere Navarro, highlighted that “SIL has opted for internationality, for serving as a union and meeting point for all professionals. A place where we can see each other's faces and talk in person, with people from Latin America, the rest of Europe, Mediterranean, Asia and even Oceania, of all the world. And we must continue on this path since international alliances are key to the implementation of new technologies and sustainability practices.” “25 years have passed in which the sector has undergone a great transformation. 25 years ago, very few people knew what logistics meant, and the logistics director was a person who did not occupy a strategic place within companies. Today we are talking about a strategic sector for the world economy,” Navarro added.

 

For her part, the general director of SIL, Blanca Sorigué, who was one of the recognized people, addressed the public on behalf of all those recognized, recalling that “SIL was born with a clear international vocation and the vision of bringing together the best talents in the field of logistics. It was a brave bet, but today, looking around us, we can proudly say that that visionary idea was a success. 25 years of uninterrupted celebration except for the two hardest years of a pandemic that hit the entire world. After this brief period of confinement, SIL returned last year with more enthusiasm than ever and excellent health. We are one of those who like to see an opportunity in every crisis and this health crisis was, without a doubt, the opportunity to demonstrate that logistics moves the world."

 

With nearly 800 representatives of the sector and institutions, La Nit de la Logística was the launch of what will be the 25th anniversary of SIL, kicking off this edition, which will open this morning. The opening ceremony will take place in pavilion 8 of the venue Montjuic-Plaza España at Fira de Barcelona and will be chaired by the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, among other authorities and institutional representatives.

 

SIL's general manager, Blanca Sorigué, who was one of the people recognized, emphasized that "SIL was born with a clear international vocation and the vision of bringing together the best talent in the field of logistics."

 

This year the contest has Euskadi as a guest autonomous community that, in addition to having its own stand as a featured exhibitor at the fair, will hold its central event on the stage of the SIL Knowledge B, where it will show its potential in the field of social, environmental and economic sustainability for the logistics of the future.

 

The event, which plans to exceed the 12.000 attendees of the previous edition, starts today with more than 650 participating companies, 40% international, the presentation of more than 150 exclusive innovations, more than 250 exhibitor events and the celebration of five international conferences with 400 speakers and

144 sessions.
