This agreement marks the beginning of a collaboration aimed at participating in the expansion of the high and very high speed railway network in Poland.
The MoU signed by Carlos Palacio, president of Talgo, and Krzysztof Zdziarski, CEO of PESA, will allow both companies to align their technological and human capabilities to compete in the bidding process for very high-speed rolling stock, which will begin in 2025. It also contemplates the possibility of future projects and collaborations on other additional opportunities in the Polish railway market and the Three Seas region.

Poland has ambitious plans for its rail infrastructure, with the development of a new high-speed line that will connect cities such as Warsaw, Lodz and Wroclaw. This project, part of the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK), plans to build a network of routes up to 2.000 km long in the coming years.
Carlos Palacio, President of Talgo, highlighted: “It is a pleasure for us to establish this preliminary collaboration with PESA, which has a strong presence in Poland and a deep knowledge of the local railway market. We want to showcase the capabilities of our Talgo Avril platform and our range of trains Intercity Talgo 230”.
For his part, Krzysztof Zdziarski, CEO of PESA, said: “From the beginning of the high-speed project in Poland, we knew that we would implement this project with a technological partner. I am convinced that together, Talgo and PESA will offer a vehicle perfectly adapted to the needs of the Polish market and the Three Seas region.”
Discussions between the two companies have been ongoing for the past two years, during which time the technical teams have been working on the basic concept of the vehicle, which will enable them to be ready to present a joint offer for high-speed trains in Poland.
