The launch of GPRS in Spain

Telefónica, Airtel, and Amena are ready to launch their service. Pricing is still under review due to the challenges operators face in explaining the concept of paying for the total amount of data transferred, rather than for connection time.
Telefónica Móviles currently offers some tariffs, but these are not the final ones. They have been testing with a limited number of users the most balanced way to bill fairly yet profitably, comparing customers who "transmit the most data" with those who used it less.
Airtel and Amena are also making their plans; nobody wants to miss out on the flagship product of the new mobile telephony, and all three companies want to have it ready now to successfully face the Christmas campaign.
It is highly likely that during November of this year, the three companies will be closely scrutinized in their pricing applications, and we will be witnessing a continuous testing phase that will allow them to evaluate consumer acceptance of the service.
How much will the service cost?
Based on the current pricing of the three operators, we can get an idea of what high-speed data transmission with a mobile phone will cost. From now on, the market will determine the cost-benefit ratio.
