Fernando Muñoz, Head of the Business Development Department of the Port Authority of Cartagena, has participated in the MEDPorts Association General Assembly and in the forum organized by the association of mediterranean ports.

 

La MEDPorts General Assembly has gathered in Marseilla to the 25 partners to discuss current topics, such as: employment, smartports, trade, security, the environment and international relations. On the following day, the forum on Mediterranean ports was organized.

 

 

 

The MEDPorts association, which brings together twenty of the main ports and state port organizations in the Mediterranean, approved at its General Assembly, held on November 27, 2018, to include the Port Authority of Cartagena among its member partners.

 

 

 

El MedPorts ForumThe event brought together more than 80 professionals from 25 Mediterranean ports, experts, and stakeholders with the aim of strengthening intra-Mediterranean collaboration and reinforcing its position on international shipping routes. In recent years Marseilla has become an obligatory stop to debate the present, and especially the future, that may lie ahead for the countries of the Summer.

 

In this edition, the axes of the forum have passed four points that have served to analyze the current situation, addressing issues such as the circular economy, climate change and how it affects maritime transport, innovative and sustainable logistics solutions in ports. The Port Authority of Cartagena, which has been represented by Fernando Muñoz, has taken advantage of the occasion to publicize the actions carried out in the port in terms of innovation and sustainability, emphasizing the collaboration of all agents in the port community, as well as the commitment to comply with the objectives set in the Calendar 2030.
