Thirteen high-impact Latin American scaleups arrive in Spain with the Spain-LatamScale-UP Program.

 

Madrid hosts the 2025 edition of Spain-LatamScale-UP, a key initiative driven by ICEX Invest in Spain and IDB Lab, in collaboration with Endeavor, whose fundamental objective is to facilitate the establishment and international growth of thirteen scaleups high potential from Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Argentina and UruguayThe program will run intensively from October 12 to 20 in the cities of Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona.

 

The selected companies, chosen from more than three hundred candidates, are distinguished by initiatives that seek to generate a high social and environmental impactIts projects cover crucial areas such as promoting access to first homes, efficient waste and water management, road safety, financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the development of ethical Artificial Intelligence (AI).

 

During this immersion day, the startups will participate in about fifty strategic meetings and in sessions with more than forty specialized speakers, including funds from venture capital (VC), institutional managers, corporations with open innovation programs and startups successful. The program has the collaboration of leading players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as Google, Wayra Telefónica, Cabify, Tech Barcelona, ​​and La Caixa, among others.

 

At the welcoming ceremony, Alberto Sanz, Director of Financing and Investor Relations at ICEX Invest in Spain, highlighted the maturity of the Spanish ecosystem and its potential for rapid integration. Sanz emphasized that: "In Spain, you'll find a springboard for growth, hiring, financing, and expanding into new markets. By the end of these very busy days, I'm convinced that together you'll have found ideas to profoundly transform your startups.".

 

 

The participating companies come from Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Argentina and Uruguay and stand out for their high social and environmental impact.

 

 

For its part, Luis Jiménez McInnis, IDB Lab Representative in Europe, emphasized the value of regional connectivity: "True impact comes when innovation ecosystems are strengthened and connected. Spain-LatamScale-UP is a clear example of how building bridges between regions allows for the scaling of inclusive, sustainable, and forward-thinking solutions.".

 

Andrés Tallos, general manager of Endeavor Spain, agreed on the need for a global perspective from the beginning: “Scaling a company today means thinking globally from day one. For Latin American entrepreneurs, Spain is a natural bridge to Europe: we share a language, values, and a common vision of entrepreneurship that makes it easier to build opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.”.

 

The training program combines institutional meetings, technical sessions, networking and working meetings. Essential topics for expansion will be analyzed, such as financing startups, the legal and tax requirements for establishing a business in Spain, public incentives, open innovation with corporations, and the experiences of successful Latin American founders.

 

At the end of the program, the scaleups will have acquired crucial information about the business climate in Spain and will be able to work with experts in legal and operational aspects to plan their global expansion using the country as a base. Those who eventually settle will have access to contact services with large corporations and legal advice.

  • Elysios (Brazil): agtech with traceability, automation and IoT solutions.

  • Kalmy (Mexico): Health insurance platform online with claims management and cross-selling.

  • Works (Brazil): Technologies of Artificial Intelligence for the development of the future of multigenerational work.

  • Own Latam (Chile): Financing platform that facilitates the first home through a rent-to-own model (Rent-to-Own).

  • SensorData (Uruguay): Solutions IoT for supervision and control of operations in sectors such as forestry, agriculture and waste, with a focus on efficiency and reduction of environmental impact.

  • SIAPESQ (Brazil): Software de IA for environmental research, offering predictive solutions and accelerating the ecological transition and ESG adaptation.

  • SOS Biotech (Dominican Republic): Transformation of invasive algae into products sustainable (cosmetics, biomaterials, agriculture).

  • Status4 (Brazil): Use of AI and sensors IoT for the detection of invisible leaks and reduction of water losses.

  • Widergy (Argentina): Digital solutions for efficient management of public services by consumers.

  • Xertica AI (Mexico): Promotion of the use responsible and ethical AI for a positive impact.
