Galician tourism, a key driver of the internationalization of the regional economy

The regional minister's statement came during the inauguration of "Casas do Sarela," a project that transforms a former tannery in Ponte Sarela into an attractive tourist establishment. Lorenzana praised the initiative, highlighting its innovative architectural design that "combines tradition and cutting-edge style," achieving perfect integration with the surroundings.

During her speech, the Minister of Economy and Industry also emphasized the excellent performance of Galician exports, which have reached a record figure of over €31.000 billion. She also highlighted the positive impact of tourism on regional employment, noting that the sector now accounts for 11% of total employment in Galicia. So far this year, revenue generated by tourism has reached €118 million, representing a 2,9% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

In closing, Lorenzana reaffirmed the Galician government's commitment to supporting and assisting businesses and projects like "Casas do Sarela." The regional minister expressed her hope that these types of initiatives will continue to "further expand this very positive cycle that tourism is experiencing in Galicia," thus consolidating the region's position on the international economic stage.
