One more year, Cuatrecasas Acelera is committed to expanding borders and chooses a project of Portuguese origin

In its eighth edition

More than 90 applications have been received from Spain, Portugal and Latin America. As happened last year, one of the startups finally selected by the court to participate in the program is Portuguese.

The acceleration program Cuatrecasas Accelerates, which has already helped more than 40 startups boost their businesses, has chosen six projects focused on the Fi sectors in its eighth editionntech, Healthtech, Energy and Deeptech.

 

“We continue to see an increase in the maturity of the startups applying to our program. It was incredibly difficult to choose the six, but we are very excited about the ones selected. The focus we have placed on generative AI has also brought us a diverse group of startups,” he says. Francesc Muñoz, CIO of Cuatrecasas.

 

The startups will meet in Barcelona, on September 19 and 20, and subsequently in MadridOn November 8th and 9th, participants will be invited to the respective Bootcamps planned for this year. These highly anticipated events will allow entrepreneurs to begin working to accelerate and boost the growth of their projects alongside legal, business, and technology mentors, who will guide them throughout the four-month program. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet some of the previous participants and expand their network within the ecosystem.

 

During these sessions, entrepreneurs will validate and establish the legal growth strategies for their projects, as well as participate in simulated negotiation sessions and identify the legal challenges they face in implementing disruptive technologies to drive their growth. They will also learn how to leverage these technologies through presentations given by partners and lawyers from the Firm who are experts in key areas of business law, and through legal workshops on tax, labor, and intellectual property matters.

 

Cuatrecasas Acelera also has the collaboration of Prominent representatives in the international venture capital scene, CEOs of globally renowned companies and experts with extensive experience in the startup sector, allowing them to delve deeper into relevant legal and business issues, and addressing business matters as important as compliance, cybersecurity, growth hacking, UX/UI design, fundraising and finance, communication and sales, and corporate culture.

With the aim of offering specific and personalized advice in line with the sector of activity of each of the selected startups, the team of legal mentors for this edition is made up of the following partners and lawyers from Cuatrecasas: Miguel Sánchez Monjo, specialist in the financial and fintech field; Elena Cuatrecasas and Ariadna Casanueva, experts in pharmaceutical and digital health regulation; Sónia Queiroz and Álvaro Bourkaib, specializing in Intellectual Property; Iñigo Egea, expert in corporate tax advice; and Juan Carlos Hernanz, in public law, energy and infrastructure.

BeSplink (Deeptech – Portugal): establishes connections between sports fans and their favorite clubs or teams through immersive experiences and interactive official collectibles, allowing fans to show their support.

 

Emily.ai (Healthtech – Spain): the world's first holistic system of pulmonary care based on Artificial Intelligence capable of individualizing oxygen therapy to respiratory patients with a personal pulmonologist on call 24 hours a day.

 

Polyrewards (Fintech – Spain): aims to democratize the use and acquisition of digital assets through a rewards application for users' online purchases in the form of Bitcoin.

 

SIA (Deeptech – Spain): allows companies to integrate private language models into their business ecosystem through intelligent assistants, knowledge managers, automatic document generators, etc.

 

Therminer (Energy – Spain): In homes, it converts the heat dissipated by computer servers into heating and domestic hot water to take advantage of electrical energy twice over.

 

Tokencity (Fintech – Spain): provides complete technological infrastructure, including advice and coverage in the management of tokenized financial assets within a crypto asset market backed by financial assets of private companies.
