First joint action with the University of Jaén

Unicaja, through the Edufinet Project, has given a workshop on bank financing and economic plan of companies to entrepreneurs housed in the business incubators of the University of Jaén.

Unicaja, through the Edufinet Project, has given a workshop on Bank financing y economic plan of the companies with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship among young people, providing them with a series of knowledge to help them in the launch of a business initiative.

 

The purpose of this course, focused on the development of business plan and in which some twenty entrepreneurs have participated, aims to bring potential entrepreneurs closer to basic aspects of Bank financing and its types, as well as the preliminary aspects of a business plan and how to develop a plan and an economic-financial study, so that they have the skills to operate autonomously in this field.

 

The course, held by the Edufinet Project financial education, which promotes Unicaja Foundation and Unicaja Banco, and in which, along with other universities and organizations, it collaborates University of Jaen, has been developed in the business incubators that the University of Jaen It has properties in the city of Jaén and in Linares.

 

Specifically, the participating university students and entrepreneurs have been trained in general aspects related to entrepreneurship, criteria for developing a business plan, financing and business ratios, among other issues.

 

 

The Edufinetes Project is one of the pioneering financial education programs in the country. It collaborates with some twenty universities, institutions, and business entities, and its work has been recognized with several awards.

 

 

Regarding the economic and financial aspects, the course has focused on the business plan and its corresponding study, with issues such as the initial investment, the cash flow budget, the forecast of the income statement and the balance sheet and the break-even point and profitability ratios, as well as different issues regarding financing (types, aspects to consider in its search, etc.).

 

This course is part of the ongoing collaboration between Unicaja and the University of Jaén with the aim of improving the financial literacy of citizens in general and university students in particular. To this end, informational and training activities are planned, based on the conviction that this approach promotes greater transparency, security, and responsibility in the relationships between citizens and intermediaries, and therefore, greater market efficiency.

 

Edufinet Project, a pioneering financial education initiative in the country

 

El Edufinet ProjectPromoted by the Unicaja Foundation and Unicaja Bank, the program has received several awards and is a pioneering initiative in Spain. It also has the collaboration of eleven universities and more than a dozen business institutions and organizations.

 

Edufinet It was launched at the end of 2007, although the project began development in 2005 within Unicaja. Since its inception, more than 75.000 people have participated directly in workshops and events, of whom more than 55.000 were young people. Furthermore, the website www.edufinet.com has accumulated more than 5,8 million visits since its launch, with inquiries and access from nearly 180 countries.
