Trump has been found guilty of the 34 crimes of which he was accused in the Stormy Daniels case, the first criminal case of the four he faces.

The popular jury has accused the former president of having falsified tax records to cover up the payment of bribes to the former erotic film actress during the 2016 election campaign. Now, it is the judge who, next July, has to hand down the sentence and decide sentence. It is extremely unlikely that Trump ended up going to jail, given his lack of criminal record.

The jury's ruling will not prevent him from continuing with the campaign ahead of the elections next November. Quite the contrary. As soon as the jury's decision was known, the website to finance the Republican candidate's campaign collapsed due to the displays of support from his supporters. Trump has become the first former president convicted in a criminal trial, but his voters don't seem to care too much. In fact, the former president has not hesitated to present himself as a political prisoner and describe all the criminal cases he faces as political persecution.

The strategy can work out well. He has a slim advantage in the polls (45% of the vote compared to 44% who would support Biden) and a great ability to manage and shape the political narrative in his favor. Trump has faced two impeachment trials in Congress, his involvement in the assault on the Capitol, various sexual scandals and four indictments. However, nothing seems to derail his career toward Casa Blanca
