In line with its objective of continuing to promote and develop industry 4.0, the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB) incorporates Virtual Doctors and Medicines (VDMHealth) to its ecosystem of companies in the building DFactory Barcelona, a 17.000 square meter space dedicated to innovation.
VDMHealth is a company that, through Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence, offers innovative solutions with great added value to improve medical care in all areas of care, with guaranteed benefits for professionals and patients. It has an intelligent platform that includes support tools to automate and gain precision in the tasks of prior evaluation and diagnosis, pharmacological prescription, treatments and care in real time and on demand. This system is constantly developing and learning new treatments for the most common diseases, such as cancer, Alzheimer or other chronic diseases.
Thanks to the formalization of the collaboration agreement with the CZFB, the organization now has its own office in DFactory Barcelona where it can continue working in innovative technological solutions, as well as begin to generate synergies and establish alliances with other companies present in the building to jointly develop new initiatives.
The agreement between both entities contributes to the acceleration and consolidation of the new economy in our environment, while reinforcing the projection of Barcelona and its metropolitan region at an international level.
The objective of this sustainable and unique building is to create an environment suitable for the development of emerging companies with a differential value proposition, as well as to give visibility and support to the ecosystem by promoting activities to attract talent and investment, turning DFactory Barcelona into an international reference space. In fact, it can be considered the main industry 4.0 node in southern Europe, as it brings together large business corporations, startups, innovation centers and laboratories. In its short history, the building already has an occupancy of 40%, with 30 companies and 150 people working in a single space.
“Our facilities have all the necessary characteristics to lead the transformation towards a new economy, but to do so it is essential to continue promoting public-private collaboration,” he explains. Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State at the CZFB. “The incorporation of VDMHealth to DFactory, a company with which we share the vision of the project, represents a great advance for our ecosystem of 4.0 companies that will help us continue growing and consolidate this evolution,” he adds.
For its part, Jordi Ferrer, CEO of Virtual Doctor and Medicines comments that “we are very happy to have been invited to join DFactory Barcelona and be part of the ecosystem that is leading Spain to lead digitalization in Europe and the rest of the countries.”
