10th Report “Investment Panorama in Latin America” by IE Business School

Presented in Madrid

Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, and Argentina are hotbeds of Spanish investment in Latin America.


Latin America is and will continue to be the focus of investment of Spanish companies that internationalize, this is one of the conclusions of the report “Investment Overview in Latin America" produced by IE Business School and presented this Wednesday in America House.

 

The study concludes that 76% of the companies surveyed plan to increase their presence in these markets, 23% will maintain their presence, and 1% plan to reduce it.

 

After analyzing the activity of the Spanish companies who are in the region and consulting them about their expectations have resulted in Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico and Argentina the countries where investment will increase followed by Brazil, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. At the other end of the scale Venezuela will once again be the only destination to register a process of disinvestment.

 

The factors considered for investment vary by country, but the domestic market is the most attractive competitive advantage for investors. Another conclusion included in the report is that the most attractive location for establishing central operations is CDMXfollowed by Bogotá, Santiago de Chile and Miami.
